Confidence in Chaos

Let's start this blog with a funny, well not so funny story. Yesterday, I attended church where the worship was beautiful, the message was needed, and the presence of God was awesome. I left church full of joy, headed home, and relaxed with my husband. I had been moving around the house here and there with no signs of a pending attack. After we watched a movie, we decided to clean the house. I took my happy self into the kitchen and was faced with unwanted guests, ANTS! They could have minded their own business elsewhere and not in my kitchen. I immediately started yelling, freaking out, grabbing appliances off the counter, clearing cabinets; literally acting like a mad woman. Did that change the situation? No. Could I get a clear view of their point of entry? No. Why? Because my eyes was focused on the problem and not the problem solver. How could I have known what to look for or what to do when my eyes were everywhere but UP? I tried everything I knew to do, but I did not ask the Lord to help me see clearly. But then I stopped, and called on my present help in my time of trouble. At the end of it all, I gave God all the glory for a clean kitchen with no ants LOL

Psalms 46:1 " God is our refuge and strength, A very PRESENT help in trouble."

I was tired of being frantic, stressed, and operating in my own strength. That's what it looks like when we place our confidence in ourselves and others. Sis, attacks from the enemy and troubles in this life is inevitable, there is no way of avoiding them. But we have a savior who never leaves us or abandons us, even in the midst of chaos.

Q & A

  • Who do you put your confidence and hope in? In good times and bad?

  • Will you continue to irresponsibly seek your own help above God's?

  • Do you enjoy working harder for results that have no lasting effects?

  • What will it take for your eyes to shift from your problem to the problem solver?

Answer these questions in your quiet time with the Lord. Answer them honestly, surrendering and opening your heart fully to God. LET HIM IN!

Just as I was moving and clearing things out of my kitchen in the midst of a problem, God desires to do the same with the things that are crowding your heart. Just as I had to stop the yelling and take a moment to call for help, take a moment to ask God to quiet your thoughts that are raging in your mind, so you can hear and receive his thoughts. He is a strategic God, who desires to walk you through the His process. Trust him!

WE ONLY HAVE CONFIDENCE IN JESUS! There is no other, not even yourself.

My sister, I know struggles can be hard, but with God every struggle becomes past tense. You're not making it, you made it! You're not trying, it is done! You're not a victim, you are victorious! All with the power and strength of Christ. Focus on the confident one who lives inside of you, and don't forget to look UP.

Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all who you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you, let me TEACH you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find REST for your souls."

Love you woman of God!
