His Grace is Sufficient

Sometimes we think suffering shouldn’t be a part of the life of a believer but let me challenge you.

Where is that seen in our Bible?

I am speaking to a group of young women tonight and my heart is focused on my testimony.

⁃ Aborted & lived

⁃ Molested from 3-11

⁃ Held hostage and raped from 11-14

⁃ Addicted to drugs & alcohol from 11-30

The list goes on.

Have you ever wondered why some people have it easy and others have it so hard?

Me too!

I catch myself wondering this often and recently it hit me: His grace is sufficient!

I can’t tell you the moment but I know that it began to marinate in my heart.

I found myself in Paul’s writing to the Corinthians, when he speaks of the thorn in his flesh that God would not remove. God comforted Paul with these words: “ My grace is sufficient for you! “

I’m going to be very transparent here. That would have made me feel some type of way. And to tell you the truth, some days it still does!

BUT…when I think about His GRACE:

1. of the merciful kindness by which God, exerting his holy influence upon souls, turns them to Christ, keeps, strengthens, increases them in Christian faith, knowledge, affection, and kindles them to the exercise of the Christian virtues

And:

1. that which affords joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness: grace of speech

I began to see something different….not a good life or a hard life…but a life lived through the strength of HIS grace with joy!

The JOY that the Statesman Prophet speaks of in Isaiah 12:3:

Therefore with JOY you will draw water

from the wells of salvation.

Joy:

1 gladness, joy, exultation, rejoicing

Wells:

1. spring, source of satisfaction

Salvation:

1. welfare, prosperity

2. deliverance

3. salvation (by God)

4. victory

Isaiah was saying “With GLADNESS and rejoicing you will draw satisfaction from the spring, source of satisfaction of your salvation, deliverance and victory by God!

Everything you and I have faced has been through the hand of God BEFORE it ever got on our life radar.

Jeremiah 1:5:

BEFORE you were in your mothers womb, I KNEW you…

John 8:58

Before Abraham WAS I am

Matthew 28:20

I am with you always

If God knew me before I was in my mothers womb, and if He is still existing in the present where Abraham was while at the same time He is always with me, then He also knows what I will FACE!

This made me begin to SHOUT!

Because, I began to get revelation that God’s grace. His strength, knowledge and His INFLUENCE on my life ) has been given to me ahead of time for everything I go through!

This is why everyone’s trials are DIFFERENT….you don’t have the GRACE to face rape and overcome!!! I don’t have the GRACE to overcome what you have faced. But the grace each of us has been given…. Is SUFFICIENT! 🙌🏽

This does not mean that everyone will overcome.

Unfortunately, there will be those who never accept His gift of salvation along with the grace He gives.

But, the good news of the Gospel is:

2 Peter 3:9b

It is not His desire that ANY should perish but that all should come to repentance!

His desire is not to set us up for failure in a lost & dying world but to give us the GRACE we need to face what lies ahead so that we, like Isaiah declares, can draw water from the wells of salvation!

So the next time you find yourself wondering why someone faces a certain trial…begin to thank God that He has given them sufficient grace to overcome AND it will bring Him glory in the life of not only the believer but in those around them!
