It's Worth the Risk

What if David never defeated Goliath because he was afraid of his giant? What if Abraham never obeyed God and packed up everything and moved to the unknown and undisclosed location because he was afraid of the outcome? What about Daniel, what if he conformed to the commands and ordinances of Nebuchadnezzar because he was afraid of the consequences he'd have to face? What if Esther was never bold enough to go to her husband the king and ask for permission for the Jews to kill their enemies. What if you never.... (fill in the black) You get the picture by now. These are all excellent examples of how we should be. Confident, bold, and obedient to Gods word. The Bible is full of proof that we can put our hope and trust in God. His promises are always yes and it is so. His word will NEVER fail us AND it will accomplish what it’s set out to do!
Sis, I want to encourage you to take the leap of faith and do "it." Im not even gonna put afraid on the end of that phrase. We know that God has not given us a spirit of fear. Whatever your “it” is, do it. God has you in the palm of His hand. You will never get to experience all that God has for you, if you allow your fear to stagnate you. Listen, if fear has crept in anywhere, we know where it came from, our adversary and we DO NOT accept ANYTHING from him! His main focus is to "try" and stop the plans of God, stunt our growth, and destroy our destiny.

There have been and will continue to be times in life where you may feel afraid. You may even want to limit what you do or say because you are afraid of the outcome. God reminds us all over the Bible, “do not be afraid, for I am with you”. This is so comforting to know that we have creator of the heavens and the earth backing us! And remember, as a Kingdom citizen, we do not live based off of our "feelings", we walk by faith.
In times those times we "feel" afraid, we have to cast down EVERY imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5-7) God promised us the Kingdom. That does not only pertain to our heavenly home, but it includes right here on earth. God has given us dominion. (Genesis 1:26-28) We need to walk in our God given authority!
I can remember being on a flight headed to home from Atlanta. The pilot spoke over the intercom and told us that we were about 50 minutes from our destination. He also said it was clear, but the winds may cause some turbulence and warned us that it may get a little bumpy. The "F" word (fear) tried to creep in. At that moment, we were at 34,798ft altitude and 529mph ground speed. I was in the middle seat and I felt anxiety try to overtake me. I began to shake my leg, my mind started to play tricks on me that made me think the plane was going to go down, like Kobe Bryants did. (RIP) I literally had all kinds of crazy , graphic, thoughts going on. I had my mind made up that this was my LAST flight and I was not going to put myself through this again!

But then I began to pray!!!
Listen, if I don't know anything else to do, I know to pray! I prayed that God would allow our flight to be turbulence free and that we'd make it home safely. I can't say that there were not bumps along the way, but what I can say is as I was praying, God gave me peace during that flight. I was able to sit back, relax and listen to my worship music, confident in my God. He reminded me that I am royalty. He reminded me of all the promises that He made me that had not come to pass. I was confident that I was in the Masters hands and he would NOT let me go!
I ALMOST decided to stay planted where I am, safe inside the bubble of my hometown. I ALMOST allowed the enemy to win by believing the lie of fear. I choose different, I will believe what God says. If I can say out of my mouth that I trust God, why wouldn’t my actions align with my words? I know what God has for me and it is not to be stuck because I am crippled by fear. Today and everyday, I choose to trust God, He's worth the risk!
