Sis, Check Your Circle

This week, I found myself questioning my purpose. Crazy, right? I’m a 44-year-old wife, empty nester, and I’ve been blessed with a career that’s sustained me for over 14 years. I’m also the founder of I Am Moore, a women’s ministry that exists to help women become whole, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

We just wrapped our 2025 Abide & Bloom Summit, and let me tell you, God moved! Women were freed from strongholds that had gripped them for years, even decades. Forgiveness took root. Tears flowed. Healing happened. Even the men who volunteered felt the weight of His presence. It was one of those “you had to be there” moments where Heaven touched Earth.
And yet… even after all of that, the enemy came for me.

I started asking myself questions I hadn’t asked in a long time:
“Am I doing enough?"
“What does God really want me to do?”
“Am I even called to this?”
I looked around at other women, some prophetic, some worshippers, some with the gift of administration and I began to compare what God placed in me to what I saw in them. I started shrinking. I began to doubt the very thing God had entrusted to my hands.
But thank God for community.
I shared my thoughts with a couple of my girlfriends/sisters, women of God who don’t play about truth! They didn’t coddle me. They corrected me. It felt a little like a rebuke, but it was exactly what I needed. They spoke life into me. They reminded me that I don’t need to look like anyone else to be effective in the Kingdom.
They said, “Tiha, your anointing doesn’t have to look like theirs. God designed you differently for a reason.”
They reminded me that we are one body, many parts, each with a role to play. The hand doesn’t envy the foot, and the foot doesn’t compare itself to the eye. We are all necessary.
And then, the Lord led me to this reminder in John 15:
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.…Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.”(John 15:1-4)
That scripture hit differently this time.
The pruning? That’s not punishment, it’s preparation.
The questioning? That’s not failure, it’s refining.
The waiting? That’s not delay, it’s deepening.
And it reminded me that the fruit of my life will only come when I remain connected to the Vine.
When you start to drift, you need people who can pull you back to truth. You need women who can pray with you, cover you, and speak life into you when your faith feels fragile. That’s what the I Am MOORE community does! We don’t just gather; we grow together.
We remind one another who we are and Whose we are. Because here’s the truth: the right community can remind you of your purpose when you’ve forgotten it yourself.
If you’ve been questioning your purpose, maybe it’s time to look at who’s around you. Here are 7 ways to evaluate your circle:
They Push You Closer to God- Do your friends point you to prayer or pity?
They Speak Life, Not Fear- When doubt shows up, they don’t feed it, they fight it with truth.
They Celebrate You Without Competition- They don’t see your win as their loss.
They Hold You Accountable- Love corrects. The right circle will call you higher, not let you settle.
They Remind You of God’s Promises- They’ll quote scripture before they quote culture.
They See the Fruit, Even When You Feel Pruned- They’ll remind you that growth often feels like loss.
They Pray for You Behind Closed Doors- They don’t just say “I got you” they actually go to God on your behalf.
Sis, you were never meant to do this alone. Your growth depends on your connection, to God and to the right people. If you’ve been searching for that kind of sisterhood, the kind that covers you, corrects you, and calls you higher, I want to invite you to join us. Join the I Am MOORE Sisterhood , where women remain rooted in Christ, connected to one another, and committed to walking in wholeness.
Connect with us at iammoore.co on all social platforms and our website to learn more and become part of our community.
Let’s stay connected to the Vine...and to one another.Because apart from Him, we can do nothing.
