Come... That was the command the Lord gave as He called Peter to step out of the boat. As long as Peter's focus was on the Lord, he was moving. Faith came forth in a way that caused Peter to move without consideration of the storm..until he saw it.

Testimony: I woke up one morning with a tugging in my heart. The Lord was calling me out of what I had planned for my life. My personal goals, dreams, and ambitions were in the boat with me—along with everything I had ever known, including my family. I struggled for years with this tug, receiving word after word and prophecy after prophecy, until I had a dream. In the dream, I was standing in the “boat,” and the Lord stood in front of me at a distance, signaling me to step out. I stepped out, my gaze focused on Him.
As I sat on the side of my bed that morning, I glanced at my nightstand, searching for a clue about what the Lord was leading me to do. A stethoscope! My first thought was, Lord, are You serious? I never thought I would do that. I had laid that dream to rest. I’m talking R.I.P. rest.
As I got ready for the day, I prayed, Lord, if this is You, tell me to come to You. Please confirm it in a way I can’t deny. .Later that day, I checked the mailbox. There it was—a random flyer inviting me to sign up for nursing school. After seeking wise counsel and informing my family, I stepped out of the boat. For two years, I walked on water, keeping my eyes focused on Jesus.
Then one day, the wind started blowing, and the waves began to rise. Exam after exam came, and my study hours increased. The books piled up, and my hours of sleep diminished. The days felt shorter, and I didn’t know what to do. I began to sink. I cried out to the Lord to save me. As He reached out to grab me and pull me up, I was reminded to have faith and not doubt. All I could say was, Lord, You truly are the Son of God.
I now know that the One who called me out of the boat is the same One who will keep me afloat. I need only to keep my eyes on Him as I walk on water.
Sis, I want to encourage you—no matter what the storm around you looks like, keep your eyes on Jesus. Let your faith drown out the voices of fear and doubt. Remember, it is the faithfulness of the Lord and His love for you that preserves you as you walk on water.
