Hey Sis!
This month we are focusing on faith and finances. Finances can be a touchy subject for some but it doesn't have to be if God is the foundation of your motives and decisions. In my case it can be touchy at times, but the Lord is reshaping my heart in this area. Glory!
Sometime last year, my family encountered a financial hardship that brought about months of frustration, tears, anxiety, and disagreements. I did not imagine we would allow that situation to cause such imbalance in our lives, but it did. The Lord had to open my eyes to a few things in order for my perspective to shift. He revealed to me where my heart rested, it rested in fear, doubt, anxiousness, and human effort. At that point, options looked few and I was exhausted emotionally and mentally, BUT GOD! I turned to the one who's resources are limitless, inexhaustible, and purposeful. In this time of hardship, I never once asked God what HE desired for us to do; so I did. He brought to my remembrance this scripture:
WAIT patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait PATIENTLY for the Lord. Psalm 27:4
That scripture alone gave me strength and courage to seek and rest in God above all else. Was I going to trust God alone in this unexpected season or was I going to try to play god myself and continue to fail miserably? The latter is tiring and I gladly placed the situation back into God's hands because no thank you sir, this is your fight LOL. Needless to say, my family and I have learned to rest in the one who provides true results, Jehovah Jireh the Holy God of Provision. We're seeing the light at the end of this hardship, and it has not been easy, but believing God as the rewarder of our faith, following his lead, and waiting patiently for Him to act is worth it. We chose to lose the pride & fear, and exchange the weight of the hardship for ease of his partnership.
Without FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. Anyone who wants to come to him must BELIEVE God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely SEEK him. Hebrews 11:6
Sis , where does your trust lie in the midst of a financial struggle? Is it in yourself, things, others? If the foundation of your faith is in anything other than our Omniscient God, your breakthrough will be hindered by your own hand. Isn't it enough that we have satan in the midst of trials, why help him out? Matthew 6:33 says " Seek FIRST the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Your needs, prayer requests, and desires according to His will will be rewarded to you. Rest sis, rest in knowing that God delights in every detail of your life, the good and the bad. He is a loving father that desires to see his daughters win in Him. Praise him in advance! Don't wait for the answer to come, rejoice in knowing it is on the way.
Below are 2 scriptures to meditate on throughout the week:
"Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." Matthew 6:21
"No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money." Matthew 6:24
May God bless you with His wisdom and understanding as you seek him earnestly. Don't allow financial struggles blot out your faith.
