What do you do when your perception of yourself doesn’t match what you physically see?

Story time….

I’ve been on my weight loss journey for over a year now. Some weeks are better than others, but for the most part, I have stayed the course. I will take current pictures of myself and do side by side of my past photos to see if I see change. I can see there is CLEARLY a noticeable difference. It's not until I look i at myself in the mirror, I still see the woman I was a year ago. That same woman I am working so hard to hard to change!

What I’m learning is the battle is in my mind. My thoughts tell me what I am doing is in vain. My view is skewed because the analysis of myself is from a negative head space.

But you know what?!! IT'S A LIE!

It’s a lie STRAIGHT from the enemy. It’s a lie to keep me in the same cycles and patterns I have been in. NOPE, not today!! I WILL NOT allow the enemy win this battle. My bible tell me to "put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:11

I am also learning to change my distorted views. I will begin to speak out of my mouth what I want until my words line up with what I see. I will always choose faith! "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1. In this season of my life, I will not allow what I see to cloud what I am expecting!

Sis, don't allow the enemy to steal your perception. For me, it's my weight loss journey and if I'm being honest, there are other areas in my life where my insights are off, I'm sure you can relate. Reflect over your life, make a list of those things. Then, find scriptures the combat those lies and speak THAT over yourself!

Keep working, keep pushing, and keep pressing toward your goals. God knows the plans He has for you and they are to give you HOPE and a FUTURE! Jeremiah 29:11. God's ways are better than yours and His plan is Crystal Clear!
