Fall Feels & Faithful Reflections

This month, we’re talking all things gratitude!

There’s just something about the “Ber” months (September, October, November, December) that ushers in a sense of reflection and warmth. The air shifts, the leaves fall, and suddenly we’re reminded that change can be both beautiful and necessary. The fall season whispers, slow down and look around. It’s the perfect time to pause and say, “Thank You, Lord.” Lately, I’ve been doing just that. Reflecting on my life...the good, the bad, and yes, even the ugly. Through every chapter, I can see the fingerprints of God. The moments that broke me became the ones that built me. The seasons that tested me taught me how faithful He really is. And for that… I’m truly thankful.

I’ve been spending time in the book of Leviticus, and let me tell you, it’s one of those books that at first glance seems hard to understand, but once you dig deeper, it’s so rich in meaning.

Leviticus lays out the five main sacrifices that God instructed His people to offer:

  1. The Burnt Offering – complete devotion and surrender to God.

  2. The Grain Offering – thanksgiving and acknowledgment of God’s provision.

  3. The Peace Offering – celebrating peace and fellowship with God.

  4. The Sin Offering – atonement for unintentional sins or impurity.

  5. The Guilt Offering – restitution for specific wrongs or dishonesty.

Each offering came with detailed instructions. You couldn’t skip steps, cut corners, or make substitutions. If you didn’t follow them exactly, you had to start all over again. It was THAT serious because holiness matters to God.

Reading through all of this made me pause. I realized how much effort it once took to be “right” with God and how specific and sacrificial the process was. Every offering pointed to something deeper, a longing for restoration, peace, and forgiveness.

And that’s when it hit me… how truly grateful I am for Jesus, because through Him, we no longer have to bring bulls, goats, or grain to the altar. He became the ultimate sacrifice! The fulfillment of every offering in Leviticus.

  • Where the burnt offering required complete surrender, Jesus gave His entire life.

  • Where the grain offering symbolized provision, Jesus became the Bread of Life.

  • Where the peace offering celebrated reconciliation, Jesus is our peace.

  • Where the sin offering demanded blood for atonement, His blood was enough, once and for all.

  • Where the guilt offering required repayment, Jesus restored everything sin ever stole.

We are made whole not by ritual, but relationship. Not by works, but by grace. All we have to do is say yes to Him. As we walk into this season of gratitude, I want to challenge you (and myself) to do something meaningful with our thankfulness. Gratitude isn’t just a feeling, it’s a response. When you’re truly thankful, it overflows into how you love, serve, and give.

This week, do something kind for someone else, no strings attached. Buy a coffee for the person behind you, write a note of encouragement, or check in on a friend who’s been quiet. Your small act of kindness might be the reminder someone needs that they’re seen, loved, and valued. Oh and if you haven’t already, I invite you to take the most important step of all... invite Jesus into your heart. Let gratitude lead you to the One who gave it all for you. You don’t have to start over or follow a list of rules, just open your heart and say:

“Jesus, I believe You died for me. I believe You rose again.I receive Your forgiveness, and I invite You to be Lord of my life.Thank You for loving me, saving me, and making me whole.”

That’s it. No altar required. Just a willing heart! Welcome to the Kingdom, sis!

The next time you feel overwhelmed or uncertain, pause and thank God, not just for what’s good, but for everything that’s brought you here. Because even in the uncomfortable, He’s working. Even in the waiting, He’s faithful.

Let this season be a reminder: Gratitude isn’t about what we have, it’s about who we have and we have Jesus.

Sis, you’re Invited!
