This year I wanted to be intentional about my time spent with Holy Spirit. I want to understand the word of God and how it applies to my life, So, one day I was scrolling on TIKTOK and saw the SOAP method of studying. I tried it out and I must say I enjoyed my time spent
in the word of God!

As I was looking for scripture that I could relate to. I remembered how I have always struggled with slaying giants in my life. The giants of fear, anxiety, unworthiness, and many other things. I realize I am coming out of Exodus. I will be 40 years old in August and I feel It’s my time to slay those giants. It's only fitting I read the story of David and Goliath.
SCRIPTURE- 1 Samuel 17:32-38 and 48
David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this
Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.” Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth.” But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. The LORD who rescued me
from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you.” Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them. “I cannot go in these,” he said to Saul, “because I am not used to them.” So he took them off. Then he took his
staff in his hand, chose five smooth stones from the stream, put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag and, with his sling in his hand, approached the Philistine. David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the
name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

OBSERVATION- David was ready to go to battle, but Saul was not so sure about it because David was a young boy who worked in the field. He was not used to being in war or on the battlefield. David basically told Saul to check his credentials. You better google me. Google me and check the victories I have already won with the Lord on my side. After Saul realized how David was rescued from the Lion and the bear and that he was more than capable of winning this battle.
Saul gives his blessing and tells David to go and may the Lord be with him. David is ready for battle! The Bible did not say that David walked casually to battle, but it says that David ran to battle with the strength of the Lord, knowing that he was about to SLAY THIS GIANT.
APPLICATION- No matter who says you can’t, ALWAYS remember, you can with the help of the
Lord! When you look back over your life, and realize all you’ve gone through, and that you’ve won, you need to run to the battlefield with the strength of the Lord. David did not need to be clothed in heavy garments. He didn't need anything extra. All he needed was five smooth stones, a sling, the Lord, and his staff. As he went to battle, the giant began to taunt David, but David said THIS
DAY, the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and He did just that. With one headshot, the giant came down.
Prayer- Friends, what are the giants trying to stand in your way? Don't worry about them, lets pray about them.

Dear heavenly father, I thank you to for my sisters and brothers who are reading this post today. Lord, you know the giants that try to stand before them, and we are intentional about taking our giants down with one shot. We place all faith, hope, and trust in You. You have never lost a battle; you are victorious and reign supreme. Lord, whatever the tools we need to slay the
giants, I pray you will reveal them to us suddenly. Lord give us the momentum to run towards the battle line, knowing that the battle has already been won, in Jesus name, Amen!
Sis, get ready! Get ready to slay your giants!
For the SOAP method of study, there's four easy steps:
SCRIPTURE- Choose a scripture of your choice
OBSERVATION- Write down your observation of that scripture
APPLICATION- How can you apply the scripture to your life
PRAYER- Write down a prayer pertaining to your scripture, observation, and application of the Scripture
