What is Faith?
First, let’s talk about what faith is not. Faith is not good vibes. It is not positive thoughts, good energy, or wishful thinking.
According to Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV):
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Some may ask, “What does that mean?”
To paraphrase this scripture, faith is a deep-rooted trust in God—hoping for His very best and believing that He will fulfill His word in our lives. And until we see those plans come to pass, we cling to His promises.
I want to take a moment to talk about a woman whose physical condition left her desperate for a miracle. This unnamed woman is found in Mark 5. She suffered from a chronic bleeding condition that lasted 12 years—12 whole years! She sought doctor after doctor, spending most, if not all, of her money on medical treatment, but to no avail.
In those times, she was considered unclean, like a contagious infection. According to customary law, she was not to be touched, seen, or even present in public. Can you imagine the shame, embarrassment, and pain she carried all those years?
Until one day, she heard that Jesus, the Miracle Worker, was coming to town.
I can imagine her hesitation—how could she, in her condition, approach Him? But she was compelled. She was desperate.
She forsook reality—the law that deemed her unclean, the fear of being seen in public, and the cultural norms that bound her. Her suffering was too great to remain hidden. She took a risk and sought out the One she had heard could heal her.
She PUSHED, she PRESSED, and she PURSUED.
And her faith—her unwavering belief—became reality.
Jesus, with deep compassion, said to her:
“Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:34, NIV)
Sister , how desperate are you for the things of God?
Is your faith willing to push through, press past cultural norms, and pursue the One who holds all the answers to your prayers?
Or is your faith complacent and passive?
Check your heart.
Remember, our tears, complaints, and frustrations do not move the heart of God—our FAITH does!
He desires hearts that trust Him completely—in all things, in all seasons.
NOW, go in faith! Press toward our great assurance—our hope in Jesus!
